Rated as one of the nation's top fisheries, Lees  Ferry has received widespread attention in national magazines, newspapers and sporting publications.

Guided excursions, private and rented boats as well as walk-in fishing are permitted for 15 canyon miles upstream from Lees Ferry. Artificial lures and barbless hooks only.

We encourage "Catch & Release" fishing. We recommend you check with the Arizona Game and Fish Department for more information.

Condors

Bring a pair of binoculars with you when you come to visit -- you might see a California condor circling gracefully on updrafts off the cliffs.

In fact, the headquarters of the Peregrine Fund's Arizona Condor Recovery Project is located nearby. The condor research team goes into the field daily to track the progress of these rare and endangered birds.

Lonely Dell Ranch
This restored ranch near Lees Ferry was home to the family that ran the ferry service across the Colorado River. The ferry was the only river crossing for hundreds of miles, prior to construction of the Navajo bridge in the 1920s. Reach the ranch by taking the road to Lees Ferry off Rte 89A just west of the Navajo Bridge; then watch for a sign for the Lonely Dell Ranch on the left just before the Paria River.

Fredonia-Vermilion Cliffs Scenic Road
Also called Arizona Rte 89A, this road winds past Lees Ferry, through House Rock Valley, up and over the Kaibab Plateau (where visitors can enjoy views from the Grand Canyon's north rim) and down to the historic frontier town of Fredonia. There the road joins the Utah Heritage Highway, which meanders through historic frontier towns.
